About Us

We have a variety of events that include fundraisers, community events, latest news, and more. We’re a county-level fire association that provides news on the progress of our department. Our team of professionals also know how to facilitate funds to great causes throughout the community. We raise money at one of our events and delegate the funding to a good cause. Likewise, we’re dedicated to the underserved and at-risk youth.

How We Help

Money received by a Firefighters Relief Association under the provisions of the Firefighters Relief Act shall be held in trust and used as a fund:

1.

For the relief of any member of the fire department of such city, township, county or fire district when injured or physically disabled in or by reason of the discharge of such member’s duties as a firefighter.

2.

For the payment of a death benefit when any member of such fire department is killed in the discharge of such member’s duties as a firefighter, or who dies from the effect of injuries so received or from disease contracted by reason of such member’s duties as a firefighter.

A firefighter puts their lives on the line to protect citizens from fires and hazardous materials.

As a rescuer, they’re trained to protect and serve the public. Whether it’s a house fire or brush fire, a firefighter is the first to respond. They risk their lives entering burning buildings or putting out devastating fires throughout a neighborhood.

When we place a call to 911 concerning a fire or hazardous chemical present in the air, a firefighter is more likely to show up as a first responder. Their extensive knowledge of response and rescue has saved thousands of lives each year. Our firefighters protect the life, property, and environment of the community. They’re also known as an emergency response team. Becoming a good firefighter takes training and first-hand experience throughout the community. In fact, some emergency response personnel are known for their humanitarian services. For example, saving a cat from a tree or rescuing a dog from a frozen pond. They provide limitless services in an effort to protect citizens from life-threatening dangers. They’re dedicated to the communities they serve. A populated area can have more than one fire department for specific zones or regions. The Sedgwick County Firefighters Association is dedicated to news and events within the fire department. They work to improve fire services, firefighter duties, and their pay scale. Are you currently a member of your local Fire Association? Keep browsing to learn more about our unique association.
